Amy Smith Bio Pic1 200x300 Self care and relationships with Amy E. Smith + The Joy JunkieOne of the bigger issues for participants of the self care blueprint last year, related to self care and relationships.

It’s easy enough to find our relationships a little lack-lustre when we have spent a few years heavily focused on our careers, our babies, or both.

It can be challenging knowing where to begin, and how to make our relationships a high priority again.

Enter -one of the most entertaining and empowering chats I have ever had about intimacy and relationships- with Amy E. Smith from The Joy Junkie.

Amy is a certified and credentialed personal and couples life coach, relationship and personal empowerment expert.

She’s also a helluva lotta fun and someone I have admired in the coaching industry for a long time now.

The video below, is a 7 minute snippet from the full 35 min interview we recorded.

Watch this interview to find out

  • Why we have a tendency to wait until our most intimate relationships reach ‘emergency status’
  • How to create a consciousness around how you are spending your time and energy
  • A simple exercise for putting it all in perspective – urgency vs. priorities
  • Why scheduling is important for your own self-care and the wellbeing of your relationship

Great interview – I love Amy’s energy! I loved her phrasing of “wrapped in a package of urgency”! My other takeaway was when she mentioned if you remove the kids / job etc what is left there …. which reminded me that my husband and I need to care for our relationship if it is to outlast this time of our lives (we all know that but how many of us get complacent anyway?)

    • says

Yeah she’s pretty amazing alright. We had a lot of fun recording this chat :)

I read somewhere that complacency is the enemy of success and I think long term relationships are one of the main breeding grounds for just that!

Loved it! Deb I totally took that point away too. I have been paying a lot more attention to my hubby lately and it seriously works. We fight less, there are less communication issues and our intamacy levels are great.

Great job, Kirri, love that you’re getting into lots of formats. I wanted to share your webinar on fb but your fb links (to your page, as I wanted to add a mention in there) are not going anywhere! Email me when they are up and I’ll share the webinar on my page.:)
    Keep up the powerful work!

Loved this, what a cool gal is Amy and you too Kirri and Deb of course! I am looking forward to getting into more of this info, I seriously need to find what’s missing and how to put it back, that urgency thing is so true with a big life juggle going on. Thank you for including this very important aspect Kirri and Deb, I do remember it being discussed the the 30DSCBP, infact, I may have even mentioned it myself….. See you May 1!

I think you will get heaps out of the interview in it’s entirety Shirley. Yup, you were one of the women who gave us a heads up as to what was missing in last years programme – and we listened :)

Looking forward to having your beautiful energy in the final group x
